Critique Service

A critique is a careful analysis of an artistic work.  My critiques consider the craft of the piece,  how it is composed, and how it communicates.   During my 43+ years of teaching in college, art school and high school, I have done thousands of critiques, yet each one is a new experience because each artist brings to the work an individual uniqueness.  I consider your unique expression within the context of the critique.

About My Critiques

My critiques include:  1. My initial response   2.  An analysis of the craft  3.  An analysis of the composition and structure   4.  A critique of areas that might be made stronger   5.  A summary, included suggestions for improvement if appropriate.
The fee is $30 per work or $50 for two works submitted at the same time.  I accept payment by credit card or by a postal money order.
What to do:    1.  Take a clearly focused, accurate digital photo of your two-dimensional art work.    2.  Send the photo to me by e-mail along with a brief comment about your intentions for the piece and when it was done.  3.  Choose a button below for payment, depending upon whether you're requesting one or two critiques.
For a critique of one piece, use this button
For a critique of two pieces, click on this button
Once I receive confirmation of payment, I might e-mail you with some questions. I need at least one day to think about your work.  After that, within a couple of days, I will send your critique to you by e-mail.  After each critique, I will answer one round of questions you might have.   Addition rounds of quesions will add to the cost.
If you prefer paying with a postal money order, e-mail me for the address to which it should be mailed.
If you have further questions about my critiques, e-mail me here.
